Ghee roast recipes are tasty & healthy.

Ghee Roast offers great food safety of ghee due to the unique high smoke point of ghee.

The recipe for ghee roast seems easy, but its taste is awesome. Those who have had it before will pine for the fiery red, spicy, and tangy dish. Although it is very spicy and rich, you will like the taste if you have a special nose for spicy recipes.

Why does ghee suit roasting recipes?

There are certain reasons to use ghee for roasting recipes. If you try ghee roast recipes on your menu, ghee will offer you the following benefits you cannot overlook.

  • High Smoke Point: Ghee’s high smoke point (around 450Β°F or 232Β°C) prevents burning, making it ideal for high-heat roasting without compromising flavor.
  • Rich Flavor Enhancement: Ghee’s nutty, buttery taste enhances roasted ingredients, adding depth and complexity to the dish.
  • Even Heat Distribution: Ghee offers excellent heat retention and distribution power, resulting in evenly roasted and caramelized surfaces.
  • Natural Moisture Retention: Ghee helps seal in moisture, keeping roasted meats and vegetables tender and succulent.
  • Healthy Fats: It provides healthy saturated fats, vitamins, and antioxidants while lactose-free, suitable for various dietary preferences.
  • Traditional and Authentic: Ghee has a historical presence in many traditional cuisines, enhancing the authenticity of roasted dishes.

How does ghee make a roasting dish unique?

If you’re a culinary enthusiast, here are a few things you can remember before making this ghee-chicken recipe. The first and most significant thing to remember is that you cannot use any cooking oil other than ghee. Ghee is what gives it its distinct taste and gives it its name! The ghee plays a significant role in the addictive flavor.

So it can’t be called ghee roast, then, can it? Then there’s the matter of the chilies. This dish was initially made with many red chilies to make it fiery hot. It’s always spicy, so you can change the heat to fit your preferences. Make sure the spice amount is at least medium. To get the most flavor from the paste, roast it in ghee until it thickens and the ghee oozes out.

So, now that you’ve got the essentials and the formula, you should prepare it if the delicacy’s richness does not put you off. Many drawn to spicy and exotic foods will form a lifelong bond with the ghee roast. The scent of ghee and freshly ground spices is irresistible. But you need to use good quality ghee like Milkio Grass-fed organic ghee.

Why grass-fed ghee is the best oil for ghee roast recipes?

Grass-fed ghee is often considered the best oil for ghee roast recipes due to several key factors:

  • Rich Nutty Flavor: Grass-fed ghee has a naturally nutty and buttery flavor that imparts a unique and delicious taste to ghee roast dishes, enhancing their overall flavor profile.
  • High Smoke Point: Grass-fed ghee has a high smoke point, typically around 450Β°F (232Β°C) or higher. This makes it well-suited for the high-heat cooking and roasting involved in ghee roast recipes without the risk of burning or developing a bitter taste.
  • Even Heat Distribution: Ghee distributes heat evenly, ensuring that the ingredients in your ghee roast are roasted uniformly. This results in a consistent and appealing texture.
  • Lactose-Free: During the clarification process of ghee, milk solids and lactose are removed. This makes grass-fed ghee suitable for individuals with lactose intolerance, as it is virtually lactose-free.
  • Health Benefits: Grass-fed ghee contains beneficial nutrients like omega-3 fatty acids, CLA (conjugated linoleic acid), and vitamins A, D, E, and K2. These nutrients may boost the overall nutritional value of your ghee roast.
  • Authenticity: Grass-fed ghee is a traditional and authentic ingredient in Indian cuisine, often including ghee roast recipes. Using grass-fed ghee maintains the cultural and culinary authenticity of the dish.
  • Enhanced Aroma: The nutty aroma of grass-fed ghee adds depth and complexity to the aroma of your ghee roast, making it more enticing and flavorful.

While grass-fed ghee is preferred for ghee roast recipes, you can also use regular ghee or other cooking oils, depending on your dietary preferences and availability.

However, suppose you’re looking to maximize the flavor and authenticity of your ghee roast dishes. In that case, grass-fed ghee is often considered the top choice.

The recipe for chicken ghee roast: easy-to-roast

Chicken ghee roast is a popular and flavorful dish known for its rich, spicy, and tangy flavors. Here’s a basic recipe to get you started:

Ingredients:

For Marinating the Chicken:

  • 500 grams of boneless chicken pieces (cut into bite-sized cubes)
  • 1/2 cup yogurt
  • One tablespoon of ginger-garlic Paste
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • One teaspoon of Red chili powder
  • Salt to taste

For the Roasting Paste:

  • 10-12 dried red chilies (adjust to your spice preference, soak them in warm water for 15-20 minutes)
  • One teaspoon cumin seeds
  • One teaspoon of black peppercorns
  • 1/2 teaspoon fenugreek seeds (methi)
  • 5-6 cloves of garlic
  • 1-inch piece of ginger
  • Two tablespoons ghee (clarified butter)
  • Salt to taste

For Tempering:

  • Two tablespoons Milkio grass-fed ghee
  • One teaspoon of mustard seeds
  • A few curry leaves
  • 2-3 dried red chilies (optional for garnish)
  • Chopped fresh coriander leaves for garnish

Instructions:

Marinating the Chicken:

  • Combine the yogurt, ginger-garlic Paste, red chili powder, and salt in a bowl.
  • Add the chicken pieces to the marinade. Coat them well. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes, but longer is better (up to 4 hours) in the refrigerator.

Preparing the Roasting Masala Paste:

  • In a blender, add the soaked dried red chilies (remove the seeds for a milder taste), cumin seeds, black peppercorns, fenugreek seeds, garlic, and ginger.
  • Blend until you get a smooth paste, adding a little water if needed.

Cooking the Chicken:

  • Heat Milkio’s ghee and vegetable oil in a large, heavy-bottomed pan or skillet.
  • Add the marinated chicken pieces until they are browned and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the pan. Now, set it aside.

Roasting the spices Paste:

  • Add the roasting masala paste to the same pan and cook it on low heat until it thickens and releases oil. This may take about 10-15 minutes.
  • Stir continuously to prevent burning.

Combining the Chicken and Masala:

  • Once the masala paste is well-roasted, add the cooked chicken back to the pan. Mix well so that the chicken pieces get the spice paste. Cook for a few more minutes.

Tempering:

  • In a separate small pan, heat two tablespoons of ghee for tempering. Add mustard seeds and let them splutter.
  • Pour this tempering over the chicken ghee roast.

Garnish and Serve:

  • Garnish with chopped fresh coriander leaves.
  • Your chicken ghee roast is ready to serve.

Note: Adjust the dish’s spiciness by controlling the number of red chilies you use. Chicken ghee roast can be pretty spicy, so tailor it to your preferences.
