  • Method 1:A straightforward way to test the purity of ghee is to heat it in a teaspoon. If it melts instantly and turns into a dark brownish color, you can rest assured that it is premium-quality ghee. If it takes time and turns into a light yellow color, you may assume the quality is compromised.
  • Method 2:Melt some in a jar with the help of the double boiler method. Consequently, put this jar in the refrigerator. If you see two separate freezing layers, one layer is ghee, and another is coconut oil. 
  • Method 3:Take one tablespoon of ghee in a test tube and heat it. Add concentrated HCL and sugar in equal amounts. Shake well. Notice the appearance of pink and red in the bottom layer. If you find the red oink hue at the bottom, the ghee is not genuine. It tampered with vegetable oils.
  •      Method 4:Take a teaspoon of ghee on your palm. Start rubbing it. Notice if it melts by itself. If yes, it’s unadulterated. If not, it has some blending in it.
  •      Method 5:Mix a little bit of iodine solution with melted ghee. If the iodine solution turns purple from brown color, remember that you are consuming adulterated ghee with starch.
