Prawns ghee roast is a tasty seafood recipe.

Ghee is a wise and tasty combo with prawn, not for personal preference. It’s a wise choice because only ghee can offer specific benefits.

Prawns ghee roast is a global recipe. It is cooked in Asian cuisine as well as it is a favorite and popular Mediterranean seafood recipe. The use of oil also varies from one place to another.

In Indian countries or Middle Eastern countries, prawns are mainly cooked with mustard oil, whereas, in the Mediterranean region, olive oil use is quite popular.  But ghee is a global choice for prawn recipes; from a culinary aspect, it is a wise choice.

Prawn ghee roast recipe: health benefits it may offer

Prawn ghee roast is a delicious and flavorful South Indian seafood dish that combines prawns with a blend of spices and ghee (clarified butter). While it is a delectable dish, it can also offer some health benefits when prepared and consumed in moderation:

  • Rich in Protein: Prawns are an outstanding source of high-quality protein, essential for lean muscle repair, growth, and overall health.
  • Healthy Fats: Ghee, used in the recipe, is a trusted source of healthy fats, including monounsaturated and saturated fats. These fats offer a concentrated energy source and can support various bodily functions.
  • Antioxidants: Many of the spices used in the ghee roast, such as turmeric, red chili, and curry leaves, contain antioxidants that can help protect your cells from oxidative stress and inflammation.
  • Anti-Inflammatory: Turmeric, a key ingredient in ghee roast, is known for its anti-inflammatory properties. It contains curcumin, which may help reduce inflammation in the body.
  • Improved Digestion: Spices like cumin and fenugreek in the recipe may aid digestion and alleviate digestive discomfort.
  • Vitamins and Minerals: Prawns are a reliable source of essential vitamins & minerals, including vitamin B12, iodine, selenium, and zinc, necessary for various bodily functions, including immune system support and thyroid health.
  • Balanced Diet: If consumed as part of a balanced diet, prawn ghee roast can provide essential nutrients and add diversity to your meals.

It’s important to note that while prawn ghee roast offers these potential health benefits, it is also a rich and indulgent dish due to ghee and spices. Therefore, moderation is vital, especially if you’re mindful of your calorie intake or have specific dietary concerns. Additionally, consider using ghee in moderation, as it is calorie-dense.

To make prawns ghee roast a healthier choice, you can also:

  • Opt for a leaner cut of prawns or reduce the ghee used.
  • Use whole spices and fresh ingredients for added flavor and nutrition.
  • Pair it with fiber-rich foods like vegetables or whole grains to create a more balanced meal.

Ultimately, prawn ghee roast is a delicious and nutritious addition to your diet in moderation and part of a well-rounded, diverse eating plan.

Prawns ghee roast: why ghee is the better choice?

  • The suitability of ghee in the “prawns ghee roast” recipe is hidden in the recipe’s name. It is a roasting recipe, which means it is a high-heat cooking method.  Ghee offers a high smoke point, which is 485 degrees Fahrenheit. It is a safer oil than other cooking oils.
  • Ghee is a nutrition-rich cooking oil.  It contains healthy fatty acids and fat-soluble vitamins like Vitamin A, E, D, and Vitamin K. When you are roasting prawns with ghee, you are adding ghee nutrition to Prawns’ food benefits.
  • Prawn is a reliable source of protein, whereas ghee is a good source of fatty acids. When you are cooking prawns ghee roast, you are combining the benefits of fat and protein.  It is a carb-free, high-fat recipe that goes well with your keto or weight-loss diet plan.
